Weekend Wrap Up

What a great weekend! Friday we celebrated a good friend quitting a job she was miserable at.  Happy Hour was definitely in order and I finally got to use my Kate Spade pouch that I picked up for Valentines Day. I styled it with converse and some stripes of course!

Saturday night I went with a group of girls to the Seattle T-Birds Hockey game to do my part in fundraising for the Columbia Tower Firer Fighter Stair Climb. Not usually into hockey but part of the ticket went to the stair climb!

finally rocked a fur vest!

Sunday we laid around, got breakfast at Skillet Diner on the Hill... so good ::drool::.  Then we went to dinner at Buddha Ruksa in West Seattle.  Best. Thai. Food. Ever. and I'm a huge snob when it come to Thai food after my study abroad trip.  Definitely worth the 45 min wait to be seated!  We discovered our dinner spot through Sosh.  If you live in Seattle, San Fran, or New York take a look at the website/app.  So many new restaurants and ideas all in one place!

Weekend Wrap Up

Went over to my parents house to search through some of their old prints and posters.  In my Dad's poster drawer we found this poster he has held onto since 1969.  Its a print of Aubrey Beardsley art for the cover of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.  I just loved it so much I knew it had to come home with me.  Its now hanging like a bad ass in my entry hall way matted & framed.

Craigslist Gold

Everyday I look around the blogging world for decorating inspiration to get my apartment to where I want it to be.  I had this great bookshelf that had served me for 6+ years but it didn't work in my new apartment.  It was too dark against my bright walls and didn't quite fit any where because of these giant windows (read:awesome problem to have).

I have been seeing lots of glass and gold pieces here, here, and here

Since I'm always on a budget it was time to scour Craigslist. Craigslist can be so defeating at times and it really teaches you some patience. This time was not one of those...

I some how stumbled upon this beauty for $40.00!

So much better!

Everything is starting to feel a little more done, good thing I've only been there for 9 months...

Decorating My Dwelling

I moved into my first "adult" apartment about 7 months ago.  Previous to this I had always had roommates and never had a full place to decorate to my liking. It has slowly but surely been coming together and starting to look like my home. Maybe I'll be finished by the time I move out.

Yesterday this beautiful new addition was waiting for me at my door step.

I have a "slight" obsession with everything West Elm... I actually don't allow myself to walk into their store alone. Luckily they pretty regularly have spectacular sales and I picked this up for 20% off.  I had been searching hard for the past 7 months for a rug that wasn't plain and boring but a pattern was proving to be so difficult with my bold, colorful ottoman.  This small natural/ivory pattern was the perfect solution!

How do you feel about pattern on pattern?  I'm still getting used to it.
